Hawaii-based singer, songwriter, & rap artist Higgs is dropping his latest single, “No Plans”. The track, which will be released with a music video featuring a cameo from folk-pop band Streetlight Cadence, took first place at this year’s Hawaii Songwriter’s Festival competition, earning Higgs not only bragging rights but also some new musical bling and the chance to open for well-known music artists like John Cruz, Katie Herzig, and Kenny Logins (among others) at the annual Hit Makers concert.
The song showcases Higgs’ wordplay and laid-back style. He describes the tune as “An ode to not getting stressed out over little stuff, enjoying the moment you’re in, wherever that may be. It’s really a reminder for myself to lighten up more than anything haha”. “No Plans” will be released September 17th on all major online music platforms for purchase and streaming. It’s the first single off his upcoming studio album.
“Higgs is a fresh new voice in the singer/songwriter/rap world. His music is raw, emotional, and above all: authentic. His new single embodies what most songwriters strive for; it’s a musical expression of who he is and what his life is like. Press ‘play’ on “No Plans”, and you’ll spend the next three minutes transported into Higgs’s world.” -Charles Brotman, Grammy-Nominated artist/producer
